The farm is Stockleigh Pomeroy was owned by Sir Humphrey Phineas Davie. Here is the link to the tithes page. Here is his entrance in Burke's Peerage. He died in 1846. I believe James Cockram died in 1848. Did they lose the farm and go to London in 1846 or 1848?

Yes, they probably lost the farm. Leases were passed on in families. James inherited his from his father. When it came time to pass on the lease, son James was working a large farm in Stockleigh English (Down Farm), Anthony had died, and John was only fifteen. James did die in 1848, as shown in the photo of me at his gravesite,
